Milesight EM400-MUD - Multi-functional Ultrasonic Distance sensor

EM400-MUD is a robust and versatile LoRaWAN sensor designed to fit several typical applications where distance monitoring to objects are required, utilizing two ultrasonic sensors in stereo to achieve virutally no blind sone and a wide detection area.
The device is compact and environmentally hardened, the design will fit well in areas and installation in small spaces and with tough environmental conditions.
Sensors
- Ultrasonic - Measures distance to objects. Detection area: 3 - 350 cm
- 3-axis accelerometer - Detect position of the sensor. Used to indicate tilt-status of measured object.
- NTC Thermistor - Measures temperature. Used to indicate risk of fire in bin and container
Typical applications
Smart Waste Manamangent
EM400-MUD is suited for measuring fill level in medium to large waste bins and containers. Typical area of use could be municipal waste management.
It features both the ability to measure waste levels, tilt-status of lids or the container itself and monitor temperature to indicate risk of fire.
Smart Parking
Ultrasonic sensors can measure the distance to objects, this can be used to detect if cars are present in a parking lot. Using battery powered, wireless sensors can be a cost-effective way to enable smart parking solutions with real-time occupancy status and direction guidance for users.

Rugged and Reliable
EM400-MUD is designed with an IP67 rated enclosure, ensuring it is protected against dust, liquid and other environmental hazards. The enclosure itself is made of flame retardant materials ABS and PC.
The sensor is also made with conformal coating of the PCB providing an extra layer of protection against moisture, dust and contaminants that can damage the electronics - and can operate from -30 to +70°C.
In total, this ensures the EM400-MUD can work in harsh environments and secure long and stable operation.
Ultra Long Battery Life
EM400-MUD is equipped with 2 x 9000 mAh batteries, enabling it to operate for even over 10 years.
The batteries are easily replacable, ensuring easy installation and maintenance.
